Privacy Policy
Diapason Games UG (haftungsbeschränkt) is a game studio based in Berlin, Germany (“Diapason Games”, “we”). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, which covers the diapasongames.com website and our mobile games — currently 345 on iOS and Android. For anything privacy-related, write to privacy@diapasongames.com.
Our games
Install identifier
When you first launch one of our games, it generates a random identifier (a UUID) on your device. It is not derived from your device’s hardware or advertising identifiers, and we don’t link it to your name, email address, or other directly identifying information — with one exception: if you contact support from inside the app, your message includes your install ID so we can actually help you (see “Support requests” below).
We use the install ID to associate your game progress with your installation, to verify and maintain purchases and subscription entitlements, and to group analytics events that come from the same installation.
Gameplay analytics
To understand how our games are played and to improve them, the games send us gameplay events: session starts, puzzles started, completed, or abandoned, hint usage, and detailed in-puzzle actions such as moves and solution attempts. Each event includes the install ID, app version, platform (iOS or Android), whether the installation has an active purchase, and a timestamp. When events are uploaded we also record the country the connection comes from, as determined by our infrastructure provider; the IP address itself is not stored with your game data.
This data contains no name, email, precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or anything from outside the game. It is processed on our own infrastructure (hosted with Cloudflare, stored in the European Union) — we do not use third-party analytics services.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving our games (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can turn analytics off at any time in the game’s settings, or object by emailing us. Raw events are kept for 24 months and then reduced to anonymous aggregate statistics; the raw data is deleted.
Server communication
Our games talk to our backend to fetch configuration and content and to upload the data described above. Like any internet service, our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address to deliver those responses, and short-lived technical logs may include IP addresses. We do not store IP addresses together with your game data.
Purchases
If you buy a subscription or lifetime unlock, the payment is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own privacy policies. We never receive or store your payment card details.
To verify and maintain your entitlement we use RevenueCat, which receives your install ID, the purchase receipt or token, and basic device and platform information. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Entitlement records are kept for as long as your purchase is active, plus any statutory retention periods.
Support requests
If you use the in-app contact form, we receive the email address, subject, and message you write, along with technical context attached automatically: your install ID, app version, platform, OS version, device model, and language. We use this only to respond to you and to troubleshoot; note that this is the one case where your email address becomes linked to your install ID. Submissions are stored on our systems in the EU and delivered to our support inbox (Google Workspace). Legal bases: performance of a contract and our legitimate interest in providing support (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Support messages are deleted after 24 months.
This website
diapasongames.com uses no cookies, no analytics, and no advertising or tracking of any kind. The one exception is the share link (diapasongames.com/get/345) that players send from the game: opening it records that a click happened, along with the device type (iOS, Android or other), the country the request came from, the referring site and the browser identification string, before sending you on to the app store or to this site. No IP address or cookie is stored, and the record cannot be linked to a person or a player.
The website is served by Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived infrastructure logs (IP address, browser information) for security and operations. If you use the contact form or the data deletion form, the email address and message you provide are stored with Cloudflare in the European Union and emailed to us, and are used only to handle your request and reply to you; these messages are deleted after 24 months.
Fonts and all other assets are served directly from our own website — nothing is loaded from third-party servers.
What we never do
We never show ads, sell or rent personal data, share data with brokers, track you across other apps or websites, or embed third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in our games.
How long we keep data
Gameplay analytics: 24 months, then converted to anonymous aggregates (which are no longer personal data) and the raw events deleted. Support and contact messages: 24 months, then deleted. Purchase entitlement records: for the life of the entitlement plus statutory retention duties. Infrastructure logs: automatically deleted on our providers’ short schedules.
Where your data is stored
Game data, analytics, and support submissions are stored with Cloudflare in the European Union. Some of our providers (Cloudflare, Google, Apple, RevenueCat) are US companies; where personal data leaves the EU/EEA, the transfer is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; ask us to restrict processing; receive a copy in a portable format; and object to processing based on legitimate interest, including our gameplay analytics. Contact us at privacy@diapasongames.com — we respond within one month. We extend these rights to all our players and visitors, wherever you live. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Ours is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (datenschutz-berlin.de), but you may contact the authority where you live.
Deleting your game data
The quickest way is our data deletion request page. You can also email privacy@diapasongames.com. Either way, include your install ID (shown at the bottom of the game’s Settings screen) so we can find your data — without it, we have no way to know which data is yours. We will delete your analytics events, support submissions, and RevenueCat record within 30 days. Deletion covers data collected up to that point; if you keep playing, new data will accrue under the same install ID unless you also uninstall the game.
Children
Our games and website are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When our data practices change — for example, if we add accounts or leaderboards — we will update this policy, revise the date at the top, and for material changes provide notice in the app or on the website.
